Babe Rainbow / Before: Audioban Selects: Palmiyeler

The band that adapts Australia’s sunshine and warm climate, giant waves well suited for surfing and the 60's psychedelic pop to our days, keeping them alive in their music.

The free spirit of the 60s colours of the rainbow, psychedelic music of the period by the support of neo-psychedelia wave of today. They released their eponymous EP compiling their early singles in 2015. This EP has not only drawn attention from music enthusiasts but also one half of Broken Bells; Danger Mouse, who has recently released Lux Prima, a collaborative album with Karen O and has previously worked as a musician and producer with Jack White, Norah Jones, Julian Casablancas, Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz, The Black Keys, Beck, Iggy Pop, Wayne Coyne, David Lynch and countless others. Danger Mouse personally picks whom to sign with his record company 30th Century Records and has included Babe Rainbow in his roster. Their self-titled debut album was produced by Stu Mackenzie, the mastermind of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and released in the summer of 2017. Cosmic and tropic elements thrive in guitar melodies full of serotonin in this album that is full of songs reflecting the creative face of late 60's music, especially in J.J Cale, The Grateful Dead and the later period of The Beatles. Double Rainbow, their second album, was released last year. It's impossible to stay indifferent to their live performance and songs infused with elements of folk, boogie and funk such as Secret Enchanted Broccoli Forest, Peace Blossom Boogy and Love Forever.

Mertcan Mertbilek and Tarık Töre, both of whom we know from Kilink, have brought California sound together with the palm trees of Izmir, resulting in the joyous and energetic Palmiyeler that guarantees you won’t be able to sit still. Since the summer of 2015 everyone in need of serotonin has met up with the band, as their boundless energy on stage has turned into an organic anti-depressant for fans. They have entered the heart of our playlists with ‘II (Venus)’ in 2017, and more recently with their latest album ‘Akdeniz’ last year.

If you enjoy Wooden Shjips, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Kikagaku Moyo, you're in for a treat.
