Founded in İzmir in 2008, the band won the first place at Radyo Boğaziçi’s Battle of the Bands competition in 2016. People who hear the band for the first time can’t help but ask themselves why they have been deprived of this music for the last 10 years. Their sound, reminiscent of defining bands of music history such as Radiohead, Dead Can Dance, Sigur Rós, and The Cure, is a blend of rock, electronica and ‘90s shoegaze. Their unique musical style stands out in the local scene. They have demonstrated that they are now in the big leagues with their debut album ‘Ucube Dizayn’ (Freaky Design) released in 2016 and with their second album ‘Yarı Cennet’ (Half a Heaven) released in 2017. They have performed at many prestigious local and national venues and festivals. Maintaining their an-album-every-year rhythm, they released their third and most recent album ‘Yakamoz Sandalı’ (Sea Sparkle Boat) on 23 November 2018. The album that expressed utterly different troubles with perfectly divergent tones, reminding listeners of a summer night breeze in the middle of winter. A regular at Salon İKSV and among the favourite local names of Salon İKSV audiences, this time Hedonutopia will be illuminating the night of November 3 with their songs.
