Hedonutopia was formed in 2008 by Fırat Külçek and Kerem Feyzi in Izmir. They won the first prize at Radyo Boğaziçi’s Battle of the Bands in 2016. People who listened to the band for the first time couldn’t help but ask themselves why in the world they deprived their ears of this music before. Blending rock, electronica and ‘90s shoegaze, their sound connotes those of the defining bands of music history, such as Radiohead, Dead Can Dance, Sigur Rós, and The Cure. Their musical style sticks out with its uniqueness in the local scene. Their slow and steady approach to music has finally paid off with their 2016 debut album ‘Ucube Dizayn’ (Freaky Design) and their surprise sophomore effort ‘Yarı Cennet’ (Half a Heaven) in 2017. They performed at many prestigious venues and festivals of the country. Preserving their an-album-every-year rhythm, they released their third album ‘Yakamoz Sandalı’ (Sea Sparkle Boat) in 2018, followed by 2019’s ‘Arzu Ütopyası’ (Utopia of Desire).
