The contemporary jazz trio of Sarp Maden, Alp Ersönmez, and Volkan Öktem.

This truly unique trio are amongst the key names of Istanbul’s music scene, known for taking jazz stages around the world by storm with their improvisations and bringing character to pop music. Sarp Maden, who released his solo debut ‘Bence’ in 2008, is part of several projects; including Acid Trippin’ with Ali Perret, Yahya Dai, Erkan Oğur, and Ercüment Ateş, Quartet Muartet with Genco Ari, and Trio Mrio with Çağlayan Yıldız. In addition to being a doyenne of jazz and a member of İlhan Erşahin’s Istanbul Sessions, Alp Ersönmez is the bass player for Tarkan and an accomplished musician who has worked in studio sessions with many international stars such as Erik Truffaz, Wax Poetic, Karina Zeviani of Thievery Corporation, and Clark Gayton. Volkan Öktem, who started playing drums wıth military band musicians in Izmir at the age of 11, is a multi-faceted artist who has worked on more than 100 albums with everyone from Sezen Aksu to Nilüfer, toured with Sertab Erener and Tarkan, and is the founder of Laço Tayfa, which he performed at many festivals. When MadenÖktemErsonmez played at Salon in 2017 to introduce their first album as a trio ‘MÖE’, they blew our minds with their interactive performance, rich melodies, and free attitude. We can’t wait to welcome them on our stage again!
