THaving adopted the motto ‘If we love it, we’ll release it’, Shalgam Records doesn’t limit the albums they release to a single genre. They have decided to carry this open-ended approach in their musical range over to their event night. The first night of these event series, in which the record label features not only the artists on its roster but also those it admires, will be held at İKSV Salon on the evening of Thursday, December 8.
The exact course of the night is as follows;
Tj Porter 21.00 - 21.30
The album “Odyssey” by Tj Porter, the 56-year-old Canadian musician who has gravitated towards electronic music after playing guitar and bass guitar in countless punk and alternative rock bands, was released from Shalgam Records in 2018. Porter, who is inspired by many genres ranging from Krautrock to ambient music, will be performing tracks from his new album to be released in 2020.
Can Tan 21.45 - 22.15
Can Tan released “Soul Path” last October, which is a continuation of his project “Game Airs” started 12 years ago. You have the opportunity to watch the first concert of this concept album, which is a tribute to ‘Ninja Arcade’ games, at Salon İKSV on November 5.
Jakuzi Acoustic 22.30 - 23.00
You shall witness a night that will go down in history as the first acoustic concert by Jakuzi. A very different performance from the Jakuzi performances you know and admire awaits you.

Guguou 23.15 - 00.00
Guguou, founded by Güneş Terkol, Güçlü Öztekin and Oğuz Erdin for a performance proposal at the Sao Paulo Biennial, released its debut album “Pas Matri” last June. The band performed its first concert at the opening of the 16th Istanbul Biennial with the participation of Bora Çeliker, who also took part in the recording of the album.
Their performance, in the form of experimental pop music where they manipulate rhythm and sound, promises even more than what is heard on the album.
Shalgam Records is celebrating its 5th year with the first of this new event series.
This event has an age restriction of 18.
