There is no doubt he has an aura that is unlike any other singer and songwriter like him or could be found similar. Charlie Cunningham found his inspiration in Sigur Rós and Mogwai among others in the early years of his fascination for music. After drifting a while among experimental, indie and hardcore bands, he grew infatuated with flamenco and found himself in Spain in no time. Two-year-long flamenco training and the time he spent in Spain constituted the base for the concerts he started to give upon his return to the United Kingdom. He fused the indie-folk melodies we came to know and love with the flamenco technique, rapidly alluring the spotlights. He gained a crowded fan base with his first EP and his first album ‘Lines’, which was an instant success that made to the top of BBC Radio 1’s music charts.
