Birlikte Güzel: Jakuzi

Birlikte Güzel: Jakuzi

Salon İKVS’s 10th year officially begins with the darkwave, synthpop band Jakuzi. All of Jakuzi’s performances at Salon İKSV so far have been extremely memorable, the band has also produced one of the best domestic albums of this year with their new release ‘Hata Payı’ (Margin of Error).

Jakuzi was founded by Kutay Soyocak and Taner Yücel in 2016. We fell in love with Kutay Soyocak’s one of a kind vocals and his memorable synthesisers at first sight. Following the initial release of their aptly-named debut album ‘Fantezi Müzik’ released on cassette tape from Domuz Records and produced by Taner Yücel, the album was re-released at the beginning of 2017 with additional tracks by Berlin-based City Slang Records. Jakuzi has become one of the favourites of the local scenes and has received mentions in prestigious media outlets including ‘The Quietus’ and ‘The Guardian’. They have appeared in Barcelona, Paris, London and Berlin and at major festivals such as Primavera Club, Donaufest, Synästhesie, and Pop-Kultur. Although Taner Yücel has retired from the stage and band membership, he continues to work with Jakuzi as a producer and composer. The band continued its journey with ‘Hata Payı’. The album, while bearing traces of the Jakuzi we have come to know and adore, took a darker path and blended new wave, post-punk, dark-wave, Krautrock and lo-fi sounds. All of Jakuzi’s previous concerts at the Salon have been completely sold-out, the most recent one being the release concert of their new album ‘Hata Payı’ which was performed for two consecutive days and blew the audience’s minds. Next up, is the first concert of Salon IKSV’s 10th year which will open the doors of a brand new season.

The first concert of the season with Jakuzi’s legendary performance and their songs we’ve learned by heart.
